Donald Trump, president of the United States, was greeted Monday by loud boos when the giant screen at Madison Square Garden, site of Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs, announced his presence.
Trump was invited to the game by James Dolan, owner of the Knicks, and became the first U.S. president in office to attend an NBA Finals. Cameras showed Trump in a box at Madison Square Garden, smiling during the U.S. national anthem ceremony.

At Madison Square Garden, the booing was noticeable, clearly outnumbering the applause from a minority of fans.
According to EFE, present at the pavilion.
New York armored the Madison Square Garden area to ensure maximum security for Trump’s arrival.
And, among other measures, the typical game viewing party outside the pavilion was cancelled.
Authorities ordered fans to arrive at the stadium three hours in advance and without backpacks.
