Hours before reporting on the progress of the negotiations, Trump also revealed that he had decided to call off military operations that had been planned against Iranian targets.
The president argued that the talks had reached a sufficiently advanced stage to warrant pursuing a diplomatic solution.
According to the president, the agreement would include commitments related to Iran’s nuclear program and stability in the strategic Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important maritime routes for global oil transport.
Trump stated that Iran would commit to neither developing nor acquiring nuclear weapons, while both sides would continue to negotiate outstanding technical and economic issues.

However, in Tehran, the optimism has been much more subdued.
Iranian officials noted that no final decision has been reached yet and that several significant differences remain unresolved in the negotiations.
The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that, although significant progress has been made, there are still red lines that have not been resolved.
International analysts believe that a potential agreement would represent one of the Trump administration’s greatest diplomatic achievements in foreign policy.
However, they also caution that the negotiations remain fragile and that any last-minute disagreement could delay or even prevent the final signing.
