Argentine singer Luck Ra is confident that his Mexico City premiere next Wednesday will be a “party” and a “great moment to forget about problems”.
“I thought they didn’t know me here in Mexico (…) but the truth is that the people here are very warm, very intense, I loved it,” said the 27-year-old singer at a press conference about his first tour in the North American country, where he made his debut in the central city of Puebla on Saturday.
His next stop will be the National Auditorium in Mexico City, a performance of which he stressed that they have “a big surprise”, as he will be accompanied on stage by a “great friend of mine” that “everyone knows” in the country.
Of Wednesday’s concert, Juan Facundo Almenara, known artistically as Luck Ra, expressed his wish that his next concert will be remembered as a party and a moment to “forget about problems and to dance”.
“I’m going to give it all to every place I go and I’m sure that every person who has seen me on stage knows that I always leave everything there (…) The truth is that the reception was spectacular in Puebla. And we are going to continue working as much as possible so that every time my shows here in Mexico are a party”, declared the singer born in the Argentine city of Córdoba.

Although he comes from a different musical tradition than Mexico, Luck Ra said that what he does is something “very traditional” that has become a “personal brand” and also has similarities with Mexican genres.
On the pressure he feels when he goes on stage, he said that this is something that always happens to him no matter “how many people there are” in the audience, so he starts his performance “very anxious”.
“But once I’m already out there, I feel like going out there and giving it my all. So I always think it’s, at least on my part, the same feeling before I go out, no matter if it’s to a stadium or to someone’s backyard. It’s always the same feeling,” he added.
He also opened the door to future collaborations with Mexican artists, beyond the song he released last year with the cumbia group Ángeles Azules.
“I’m falling quite in love with Mexico so I’m thinking about very nice collaborations,” he said before assuring that he would “love” to have a song with singer Thalia, whom he “loves” as an artist.
Asked about the musical genre in which he feels most comfortable, Luck Ra stated that it is “without a doubt” the quartet, originally from his native Córdoba, reported Agencia EFE, as it is the one in which “I feel most like myself” and which is most closely linked to his way of being and his identity as a singer.
