Mexico launches Mexico 2026 App for the World Cup

Unique routes and experiences are being prepared

Mexico continues to prepare the logistics and technology that will accompany the arrival of millions of visitors during the 2026 World Cup. As part of this strategy, federal authorities confirmed the upcoming launch of the Mexico 2026 App, a digital tool designed to guide, inform and accompany domestic and foreign tourists who will travel the country during the biggest tournament in the history of soccer.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, the platform will be developed in coordination with the Digital Transformation Agency, and will offer complete and centralized information for the more than 5.5 million visitors expected to enter the country between 2025 and 2026. Rodríguez Zamora explained that the goal is to “provide a safe, informed and connected experience” that takes advantage of the national tourism infrastructure.

More than 250 routes to travel through Mexico

Through the Mexico 2026 App, visitors will be able to explore Mexico through more than 250 tourist routes specially organized for the World Cup.

These will include:
Sun and beach destinations
Cultural and archaeological circuits
Regional gastronomic experiences
Ecotourism and adventure tourism options
Thematic trips and sports tours

The application will integrate maps, geolocation, recommendations, access to tickets, transportation and security alerts, elements that seek to facilitate the fans’ journey.

One of the most promoted attractions will be the possibility of exploring the Mayan world using the Mayan Train.

According to Rodríguez Zamora, the Mexico 2026 App will make it possible to combine rail journeys, community visits and unique cultural experiences.

Mexico goes for Guinness World Records

As part of the pre-tournament atmosphere, Mexico will also seek to break several Guinness World Records in different states of the country.

These activities seek to promote domestic tourism, reinforce the sports identity and attract international attention.

Confirmed events include:
February 2026 – Chiapas: Human image of the world’s largest soccer jersey.

March 2026: The world’s largest soccer class.

May 2026: Creation of the largest soccer mural.

These events will serve as a prelude to the World Cup atmosphere and will be accompanied by promotional campaigns inside and outside the country.
