The controversy between Fátima Bosch, Mexico’s representative in Miss Universe 2025, and Thai director Nawat Itsaragrisil, continues to generate repercussions inside and outside the international pageant.
A few days after the tense confrontation in Bangkok, several prominent figures from the world of beauty – among them Sheynnis Palacios, Ximena Navarrete and Jacky Bracamontes – have publicly expressed their support for the Mexican, highlighting her courage in speaking out against a situation of public humiliation.
However, the echo of the incident has also reached the current contestants of the competition, where there have been conflicting versions of who showed solidarity with Bosch during the altercation.

During the ceremony where the confrontation occurred, Miss Iraq was the first to openly express her support for Fatima Bosch, accompanying her minutes after the incident.
Her gesture was caught on camera and applauded on social networks, where numerous users praised the female union in the face of the behavior of the Thai director, who called Bosch a “fool” and ordered her to leave the premises.
The moment, widely broadcast on digital platforms, unleashed a wave of reactions around the world. However, it also gave way to rumors and misunderstandings about the attitude of other contestants who were present, among them Miss Cuba, Lina Luaces, daughter of renowned presenter Lili Estefan.
Lili Estefan denies rumors that Lina Luaces did not support Fátima Bosch

In response to the criticisms that circulated on social networks, where some users claimed that Lina Luaces “had not shown support” for the Mexican representative, Lili Estefan decided to break her silence. Through a message published in Threads, the Cuban-American hostess responded to a content creator who spread that version, calling it false and unfounded.
“We love Fatima! I was there when she came out to talk to the press and the missologists. Listen to my voice when she finished: I shouted at her, ‘Bravo Fatima, bravo, bravo, bravo!” the presenter wrote, making it clear that both she and her daughter backed Bosch.
Estefan also clarified that Lina was one of the first contestants to leave the room as a sign of solidarity with the Mexican. “My daughter was one of the first to leave with the first group that left the contest. Hello! There is a lot of love here, inform yourselves before inventing,” she added with a firm tone.

The also host of El Gordo y la Flaca insisted that Lina and other participants decided to leave the room voluntarily after the verbal aggression that Fatima Bosch witnessed. The decision was interpreted by the attendees as a show of sorority and rejection of the attitude of the president of Miss Universe Thailand.
Sources close to the organization said that the tense episode occurred during a preparatory meeting for the international contest, to be held on November 21 in Thailand. At the meeting, Nawat Itsaragrisil publicly reprimanded the Mexican for not publishing promotional content about the host country, which led to a discussion in which the businessman repeatedly interrupted her and asked the security guards to remove her.
The scene sparked global outrage and unleashed a wave of support for Fatima Bosch, both from fans and former beauty queens. While the video of the altercation continues to go viral, the gesture of Lina Luaces and other contestants has become one of the clearest signs of female support in the pageant.
Lili Estefan, for her part, reiterated her affection for Bosch and her respect for the country she represents: “Mexicans respect each other, women respect each other. I am proud of my daughter for acting with empathy.”
As the Miss Universe 2025 final approaches, the incident continues to mark the public debate, highlighting the need for greater sensitivity and fairness in one of the world’s most important beauty pageants.
