Aylín Mujica decided to speak out publicly about the fundraising campaign that began circulating online to provide financial support to the family following thedeath of her eldest son, Mauro Menéndez.
Amid the difficult situation she is going through, the actress confirmed that the initiative is entirely genuine and explained that it was not organized by her or the young man’s father, but by a group of friends close to Mauro.
The clarification was provided via a voice message sent to journalist Elisa Beristain, who shared the audio on her Instagram account.
“Mauro’s friends set that up, and yes, they’re running that GoFundMe to transport the ashes, the body—whatever needs to be done,” said the Cuban-born host.
He also pointed out that the family was not the one who launched the campaign.
“It wasn’t me or his dad who did it, but his friends did, and it’s true,” she added.

The GoFundMe page was created on July 17, just a few hours after the death of the young DJ and music producer was announced.
The initiative was organized by Rick Silver, a friend of Mauro Menéndez, who explained that the goal is to provide financial support to the family during this time of mourning.
In the campaign description, he noted that the young man’s loved ones are experiencing profound grief and, in addition, must cover the costs associated with the funeral.
He also noted that each of the donations received will be given directly to the family to cover the costs of Mauro’s funeral.
He also expressed the hope that this support would help ease some of the financial burden so that his family members could focus on saying goodbye to him and remembering his life.
The campaign initially set a goal of $22,200.
However, the response from friends, followers, and those close to him was immediate.
By the morning of July 22, the total raised had already surpassed that figure, reaching $25,777, and the fundraiser remains open for anyone who wishes to continue contributing or sharing the initiative with others.
The support he has received reflects the affection Mauro inspired in those who knew him and followed his career in the world of electronic music.

As expressions of solidarity continue, new details have also emerged regarding the circumstances of the young man’s death.
Francisco Mujica, Aylín Mujica’s father and Mauro’s grandfather, explained in an interview with TVNotas that his grandson initially had symptoms similar to a cold.
According to his account, that condition later developed into pneumonia.
Mauro traveled to Barbados to attend a baseball game, and it was during that trip that he went to a hospital, where he was diagnosed with the disease.
According to Francisco Mujica’s testimony, the situation subsequently became more complicated.
“Unfortunately, he suffered two heart attacks as a result, and his body couldn’t handle it. They tried to resuscitate him several times, but to no avail,” he said.
