British singer Bonnie Tyler (1951) “is no longer in a coma,” but remains “in very poor condition” and is still in intensive care at a hospital in Portugal; as a result, she has decided to cancel the shows she had scheduled for the coming months, her team reported.

In a statement posted on their official website in the last few hours, they clarified that, “although his condition has improved, the process is slow,” and doctors believe that his full recovery “will take time.”

For this reason, they announced that they would “cancel or, to the extent possible, postpone until next year” all the shows they had planned for this summer.

“This will affect all shows scheduled through the end of August. For now, we are hopeful that our fall shows will be able to take place,” his team added.

In the statement, they apologized to the singer’s fans and the event promoters “for the disappointment this may cause,” but expressed their hope that they would stand by them “during these difficult circumstances.”

“We hope to see you next year. We want to thank everyone for the many expressions of love and support we’ve received from all over the world for Bonnie, and we want to let you know that she is aware of your good wishes and is deeply grateful for them,” they said.

Tyler, 74, was admitted to a hospital in southern Portugal in early May, a few days after undergoing intestinal surgery.

Born Gaynor Hopkins, she rose to fame in the late 1970s with songs like “It’s a Heartache,” but achieved international stardom in the 1980s with the iconic “Total Eclipse of the Heart” (1983), according to Agencia EFE.
