Rosalía launched this Monday by surprise the video for ‘La perla’, one of the most outstanding songs of her celebrated album ‘Lux‘, as a fencing master who gives her thrust to the “emotional terrorist” to whom the song is addressed.

This is just one of the incarnations presented by the Catalan in this production, always protected against the rapiers, either in white and wielding a foil with the equipment of this Olympic sport, or with a dog bite-proof suit or with the protections of an ice hockey player.

In a more urban moment, she appears liberated as she drives a sports car and strolls through the streets, revealing a curious thong with metal appliqués, reminiscent of either a safe with the image of a heart in the center, or the iconic belts of wrestling champions.

The music video has been directed by Stillz, with whom the Catalan artist had previously collaborated to put images to songs like ‘Tuya’, ‘Vampiros’ or ‘Candy’ and who has also been responsible for other emblematic productions such as ‘La noche de anoche’ with Bad Bunny or ‘That’s What I Want’ by Lil Nas X.

It has been premiered with a small announcement on their social networks three hours before its release and the video does not feature the song’s co-performers, the U.S. formation Yahritza Y Su Esencia, a trio of brothers known for their approach to regional Mexican music and featuring Yahritza Martinez on vocals.

‘La perla’ is the song that has held the number 1 position in Spain for weeks, with platinum record qualification, and the only one that remains in the top ten along with ‘Reliquia’, which appears in ninth position and for the moment remains without video.

‘Lux’ reached No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Albums Chart, and twelve of the album’s fifteen songs ranked in the platform’s list of the 50 most listened to songs worldwide, reported Agencia EFE.
