Cuban host Raúl de Molina, one of the most recognized figures in Hispanic television, could not hide his sadness upon learning of the divorce of actress and comedian Angélica Vale and businessman Otto Padrón, who ended their marriage after 14 years of union and two children together. The news was confirmed by Angélica herself through her social networks, and quickly generated reactions in the entertainment world.
During Monday’s broadcast of his show El gordo y la flaca, aired on Univision at 4 p.m. ET, Raul de Molina expressed with visible emotion the deep affection he feels for the couple.
“This is sad, especially for me who knows them,” he said at the beginning of his speech.
De Molina explained that he maintains a close relationship with both. On the one hand, with Angélica Vale, whom he has known since the beginning of her career in television; and on the other hand, with Otto Padrón, who has held senior executive positions in networks such as Telemundo and Univision, where they coincided professionally.

“They are two people that I love very much… When I find out yesterday, I say: ‘Wow, I can’t believe it’. It really touches me very close because I love them both very much,” the presenter added.
Also known as “El Gordo” revealed that he had already heard rumors about a possible marital crisis since the beginning of March. However, he clarified that the information did not come directly from those involved.
“I found out that they had problems since the beginning of March… Not from Otto or Angelica, from a third person who told me,” he explained.
Even so, De Molina stressed that out of respect for the couple’s privacy he preferred not to go into details about the source or the circumstances.
“I don’t want to say or talk about those things because I truly have a lot of respect for them and I love them very much,” he said, acknowledging that he never imagined that the rumors would lead to a definitive separation.
Raúl de Molina and his reflection on today’s marriages
With a tone of concern, the driver took advantage of the moment to reflect on the fragility of current relationships.
“There are no more marriages that are stable. Now I’m afraid that one day I might get divorced. Really, this is horrible, everyone I know gets divorced. The ones you least expect are the ones who get divorced,” she commented sincerely.
Meanwhile, Angélica Vale -recognized for her starring roles in telenovelas such as La fea más bella and Soñadoras-confirmed the end of her marriage through a statement on Instagram, where she thanked for the years shared and asked for respect for the family process.
“After many years together and two miracles, our children, the love story between Otto Padron and I unfortunately comes to an end. We have decided to legally end our marriage of 14 years,” he wrote.

The actress added that, although the ending is painful, both prioritize the emotional well-being of their children.
“Sometimes, behind the laughter there are battles that, as adults, we have to face. We choose peace over any feeling that implies the end of something dreamed of, especially for our children, who will keep us together forever.”
The divorce of Angélica Vale and Otto Padrón marks the end of one of the most admired couples in the Latin artistic world. Raúl de Molina’s words reflect not only the general surprise at the news, but also the affection and respect that many in the industry feel for both of them.
Although their love story is coming to an end, both Angelica and Otto have made it clear that their priority will be to remain united for the love and well-being of their children.
