Prince George, second in line to the British throne, will attend the prestigious private school Eton College, just as his father, Crown Prince William, did, Kensington Palace announced on Tuesday.

The 12-year-old prince will begin classes at Eton, a secondary school located very close to Windsor Castle, on the outskirts of London, this coming September, according to the palace, the official residence of the Princes of Wales.

With a boarding school system for students, Eton is one of the most prestigious British secondary schools—for students aged 13 to 18—and has educated many prominent figures, including former prime ministers David Cameron and Boris Johnson, the English writer George Orwell, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.

Prince George is currently attending Lambrook School, a private school located in Berkshire, near Windsor, where his two siblings—Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8—also attend.

Last Saturday, George attended “Trooping the Color,” the colorful Royal Guard parade in London that celebrates the official birthday of King Charles III of the United Kingdom.

In recent months, the media had speculated about the possible schools the Prince and Princess of Wales were considering for their eldest son, including Marlborough, the private school attended by Princess Katherine, according to Agencia EFE.
