The Mexican soccer final between Cruz Azul and Pumas continues to leave reactions even after the championship won by La Máquina, and now it was Agustín Palavecino who broke his silence and publicly responded to the statements and gestures made by Efraín Juárez during the title series.
The Argentine midfielder spoke after winning the championship and made it clear that the Celeste dressing room was not pleased with some of the comments made by the university coach, especially after the first leg. Although he avoided entering into a direct confrontation, Palavecino acknowledged that certain attitudes of the Pumas coach ended up making the Cementero squad uncomfortable.

During an interview with “Vamos Show”, the player explained that one of the moments that bothered him the most was the conference after the first game of the Final.
According to Palavecino, Efrain Juarez insinuated that Cruz Azul had been lucky at important moments in the series.
Something that the Argentine player considered unfair taking into account the opportunities generated by La Máquina.
The midfielder recalled that Cruz Azul also had clear plays that could have changed the course of the tie.
Including shots against the post and decisive saves by the opposing goalkeeper.
For the player, the series was not defined solely by an isolated action, but by the performance shown during both matches.
Cruz Azul preferred to respond by playing

One of Palavecino’s strongest messages was that the team never sought to enter into public controversy or put pressure on the environment surrounding the Final.
The Argentinean assured that within the club they preferred to concentrate on playing and responding on the field, especially in matters related to refereeing.
“We never wanted to condition the referees,” the midfielder hinted.
He explained that the team remained calm despite all the tension generated around the series.
This speech also reflects one of the main strengths that Cruz Azul showed during the season:
A mentally solid group focused on competing without being distracted by external factors.
