The list of new Spanish-language music is completed by artists with urban and pop rhythms, such as Puerto Ricans Jay Wheeler and Ozuna, and Mexico’s Sofia Reyes.
Santana and Becky G’s ‘great love’ for migrants
Mi gran amor’ is a pro-immigrant song by Mexican-Americans Carlos Santana and Becky G, who talk about immigration, love, fear, sacrifice and the current reality of millions of Latino families in the United States. Becky G narrates the story with her voice, accompanied by Santana’s guitar.
The return of the ‘Prince of Salsa’ and his new music
The ‘Prince of salsa’ Luis Enrique, known for his hit ‘Yo no sé mañana’, releases ‘El alma en clave’, his first unreleased album in 13 years, recorded between Miami, Venezuela and Puerto Rico. Puerto Rican Ozuna releases ‘Mi yo de antes’, a single that represents his return to his urban roots after exploring other genres. In this song, the Puerto Rican reflects on versions of himself that remain in the past and on those loves that, over time, revealed their true motives.
The final minutes of Sofia Reyes
Mexico’s Sofia Reyes showcases her bilingual artistry with ‘Final minutes’, a track that explores the idea that decisive moments come right “at the end” of an ordeal. The electronic pop song is a collaboration with rapper French Montana and LMNT 115, an undisclosed Australian electronic duo, reported Agencia EFE.
