A two-goal performance by Luis Suárez spoiled Polish player Robert Lewandowski’s debut with the Chicago Fire on Wednesday in a Major League Soccer (MLS) match that ended with a 3-2 victory for Inter Miami.
The Florida team was without Lionel Messi, who is resting in Argentina after losing to Spain in the World Cup final.

Luis Suárez celebrated his 100th game with Inter Miami, first by converting a penalty kick in the first half and then extending the lead to 2-1 in the second half.
Luis Suárez’s performance coincided with Robert Lewandowski’s first game with the Chicago Fire.
He joined this team this summer after his contract with Barcelona ended.
The Polish player, who will turn 38 in August, did not have a standout game and was substituted at the one-hour mark.
He seemed unable to adjust to the faster, more chaotic pace of MLS.
He made several angry gestures toward his teammates to urge them to stay calm and play short passes, rather than opting for long balls and frantic running.

Just in case Robert Lewandowski had any doubts about where he had ended up, it took him barely a quarter of an hour to figure it out.
A pass from an Inter Miami center back to goalkeeper Rocco Rios Novo—who was making his second start of the season today—led to the opening goal after the goalkeeper kicked the ball into the air and it slowly rolled into the net.
Although Chicago Fire tied the game in the second half and looked poised to score a third goal, it was Inter Miami that came away with the win thanks to a goal by homegrown player Preston Plambeck in the 85th minute.
Lewandowski will have to wait until August 1 to make his debut in front of his home crowd, but before that, he’ll play on the road again this Saturday against New York City.
The Polish player wasn’t the only star to join the MLS this summer.

Inter Miami has not announced the date when he will rejoin the team along with his compatriot Rodrigo De Paul.
With this result, Inter Miami remains in second place in the Eastern Conference with 34 points.
