Sergio “Checo” Pérez officially began a new stage in Formula 1 by completing his first laps with the Cadillac F1 Team, the team that will debut in the category in the 2026 season, when a new era of technical regulations will come into effect.

The moment occurred during a shakedown at Silverstone, England, a type of day for a team to verify basic systems of the car, perform initial checks and collect data before official testing. This type of shakedown is limited by regulation to 200 kilometers in filming events, so it is not a competitive test, but a crucial step for any new project.

Beyond the symbolic, the fact that Cadillac has put its single-seater on the track confirms that the team is already working at an accelerated pace to arrive at its debut on a solid footing.
