Actor Michael J. Fox has used his social networks to clarify that he is alive and in good health, after a CNN report was published this week claiming that the ‘Back to the Future’ star had passed away.

CNN mistakenly published last Tuesday a news item and video titled ‘Remembering the life of actor Michael J. Fox’, in which it implied that the movie star had died.

After realizing the publication, the network removed the information from the platforms. In a statement, it admitted the mistake and apologized to Fox and his family.

With his characteristic humor, the actor used his Threads account to ask the public how they would react to the news of his own death.

“You switch to MNSBC, or whatever they’re called now; you pour boiling water on your lap; you call your wife, hopefully she’s worried but reassuring; you relax, this happens once a year; or you wonder, what the fuck? I thought the world was ending, but apparently it’s just me and I’m fine. Love, Mike,” he wrote on the social media platform.

News of his alleged passing contrasted with a public appearance by the actor last Tuesday in Los Angeles to promote season three of the Apple TV comedy series ‘Shrinking’.

Fox joined the cast playing ‘Gerry’, a character who forms a bond with Paul, the character played by Harrison Ford, due to their shared diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease.

This role marked the star’s return to acting and reunites him with writer/director Bill Lawrence, having worked together on ‘Spin City’.

Fox was diagnosed at the age of 29 with Parkinson’s disease. Since then, he has dedicated much of his career to raising awareness of the disease, reported Agencia EFE.
