Actresses Sarah Jessica Parker and Helen Mirren have been awarded the Carol Burnett Golden Globe and the Cecil B. DeMille, respectively, for their careers and extensive contributions to the world of television and film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“On a night like tonight I am forced to reflect, I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to work on the kind of projects I did, to learn from legends and emerging actors, to have extraordinary stories to tell and great directors. I feel like I got so much more out of it than I ever expected,” said Sarah Jessica Parker, the media outlet reports.
The Golden Globes held a special event last night to present these two honorary awards.
Sarah Jessica Parker has a long career in television thanks to her role as Carrie Bradshaw in ‘Sex and the City’, which premiered in 1998 and which she played until last year in the sequel ‘And just like that’.

“I feel very fortunate to have been able to carve out a career for myself. It’s what I’ve longed for the most since I was a little girl,” Parker said.
“I’m aware that other people worked just as hard and weren’t as lucky,” she added, “I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished, but sometimes I feel a little sorry for those who were very talented.
Golden Globes and honors for Sarah and Helen
The actress was accompanied by her husband, actor Matthew Broderick and James Wilkie, one of her sons. She was also accompanied by co-stars Kristin Davis (Charlotte) and Evan Handler (Harry).
“This award means so much. For me, the three great moments in Hollywood: having a star on the Walk of Fame, receiving an Oscar and this recognition tonight. Three incredible experiences,” Helen Mirren told the media.
Mirren has a career spanning more than six decades in which she has played the Queen of England in ‘The Queen’ and has been recognized with awards such as the Golden Bear of Honor at the Berlin International Film Festival.

The ceremony, which will be broadcast this Thursday on CBS, was attended by Carol Burnett herself and actors such as Harrison Ford, Viola Davis, Ted Danson and Colman Domingo.
The Golden Globes gala will be held this January 11 in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on Sunday on CBS. It will be hosted for the second consecutive year by Nikki Glaser, reported Agencia EFE.
