Dua Lipa has finally shared photos of one of the most important moments of her personal life. The British singer posted the first photos of her wedding to actor Callum Turner on her official Instagram account—a celebration that combined luxury, haute couture, and an exclusive group of guests over a weekend in Sicily, Italy.
The photos, taken by renowned photographer David Sims, also confirmed one of the wedding’s best-kept secrets: the spectacular wedding dress the artist wore during the main ceremony was designed by Chanel Haute Couture, making it one of the most talked-about creations of the year.
Dua Lipa and Her Wedding: A Wedding Dress Handcrafted Over Thousands of Hours
For the ceremony held on Saturday, June 6, Dua Lipa chose an exclusive design by Chanel. The dress stood out for its elegant halter neckline, open back, and a long train with a feathered effect that gave it an ethereal and sophisticated look.
The creation of the piece required extraordinary craftsmanship. According to Vogue, the dress was embroidered with approximately 480,000 beads, all hand-sewn by the prestigious Atelier Montex. It also featured trompe l’oeil jewelry details, crafted by the historic Lesage workshop after more than 1,150 hours of embroidery.
The spectacular two-meter train was also a work of art. The Lemarié fashion house added nearly 25,000 feathers, carefully arranged to create a look full of volume and movement.
The dress was made in Chanel’s iconic ateliers at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris, considered the birthplace of the French fashion house.
The fashion house confirmed that this is the first Haute Couture wedding dress designed by Matthieu Blazy for a close friend of the brand, making the creation a historic piece for the house.
The look was completed with a delicate headpiece adorned with feathers, a six-meter tulle veil entirely hand-embroidered with beads, organza appliqués, and feathers, as well as white satin shoes custom-made for the singer by Massaro.
For his part, Callum Turner opted for an elegant, custom-made Louis Vuitton suit to accompany the artist during the main ceremony.
Three Outfits for an Unforgettable Weekend
The wedding in Sicily lasted three days, and Dua Lipa surprised everyone with different outfits for each celebration.
At Friday’s welcome dinner, she appeared in a sophisticated white leather halter dress by Bottega Veneta, featuring an open back, the brand’s traditional intrecciato weave, and a skirt adorned with feathers. She accessorized the outfit with a matching clutch and exclusive Bulgari jewelry.
For Sunday brunch, she chose a completely different look: a sheer floral lace dress by Chloé, paired with an eye-catching swan-shaped handbag designed by the same fashion house.
Before traveling to Italy, the couple had already legally formalized their union. On May 31, they were married in a civil ceremony at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London.
On that occasion, Dua Lipa wore a Schiaparelli Haute Couture ensemble designed by Daniel Roseberry. The look, inspired by Bianca Jagger, consisted of an ivory blazer with gold buttons, an asymmetrical skirt, and a structured corset.
The outfit was accessorized with white gloves, Christian Louboutin shoes, and a stunning Serpenti necklace by Bulgari, valued at over $500,000. Callum Turner chose a navy blue double-breasted suit designed by Ferragamo for the occasion.
A lavish celebration in Sicily
The Italian celebrations took place at Villa Valguarnera, a historic 18th-century mansion located in Bagheria, near Palermo, known as the “Little Versailles” for its architecture and gardens.
According to various reports, the guests enjoyed a truly exclusive experience. The menu was curated by Michelin-starred chef Tony Lo Coco, who prepared traditional Sicilian specialties such as anelletti alla Norma, panelle, and crocché, as well as classic desserts like cassata and cannoli.
The evening also featured a fireworks display, and, according to Vanity Fair, Elton John surprised the audience with a live performance of the classic “Your Song,” one of the most moving moments of the night.
A source close to the couple said that the entire weekend was planned as an event of the utmost luxury, for which they even booked an entire hotel in order to comfortably accommodate all their guests.
The guest list featured prominent figures from the international entertainment and fashion worlds. Among the guests were Donatella Versace, Joe Alwyn, Olivia Dean, Charli XCX, Mark Ronson, Grace Gummer, and Kevin Parker, lead singer of Tame Impala.
