Chilean Don Francisco will return this year to Univision, the channel where he presented ‘Sábado Gigante’ until 2015, with a new special series of limited duration in which he will interview Hispanic figures in the United States, the network announced Tuesday.
The new series of the host, whose real name is Mario Kreutzberger, is part of the 2026-2027 programming revealed by TelevisaUnivision, still without a definite title, but which promises “surprises, nostalgia and unforgettable reunions,” according to a document provided by the company to EFE.
“Don Francisco, one of the most recognized and beloved figures in Hispanic television, returns to Univision with a new series of interview programs with great figures of the Hispanic world, in a format that combines the closeness of an intimate conversation with the strength and emotion of a great television event,” he said.
Don Francisco will have a special show with interviews

The 85-year-old host brought down the curtain on ‘Sábado Gigante’ in 2015, then the longest-running variety show in television history, according to Guinness World Records, as it began airing in 1962 in Chile and in the United States in 1986 from Miami, through Univision.
Despite the end of that broadcast, he also worked later on at the Hispanic network Telemundo and CNN en Español, where he hosted the interview program “Reflexiones con Don Francisco”.
“With more than five decades of experience and a unique connection with generations of audiences, Don Francisco returns with the hallmark that has always distinguished him: warmth, humor, curiosity and an extraordinary ability to reach people’s hearts,” said TelevisaUnivision.
In its announced programming, reported Agencia EFE, the Hispanic TV station also announced nearly 10 new telenovelas, reality programs such as ‘Apostarías por mí’, contests such as ‘¿Quién es la máscara?’ and ‘Juego de voces’, as well as the first celebration of the Premios Juventud in Marbella, Spain.
