Barcelona won their second consecutive league title on Sunday, also the second of the Flick era and the first won in a derby against Real Madrid, which ended a turbulent week at the Camp Nou Spotify (2-0) and practically the season, the second in a row they will complete without lifting a title.
It was the azulgrana’s twenty-ninth win, achieved against a depressed Madrid team that came to the match with eight absentees, the last one being Huijsen, who felt unwell in the warm-up.
An overwhelming Barça sentenced the Clásico right from the start

The Whites were playing for their honor, but Barça were playing for the title, and that was evident from the very first minute.
With a dedicated stadium from the start, Hansi Flick’s team, who sat on the bench just hours after learning of his father’s death, soon dispelled the uncertainty as to whether they would be champions today.
After just nine minutes, Rashford, who was filling in for the injured Lamine Yamal at right-back, made it 1-0 with a stunning free-kick from the edge of the area.
A shot that slipped like a howitzer into the right corner of Courtois’ goal, who was making his comeback after a month and a half out with a muscle injury.
Ten minutes later, the Catalan side scored their second in another masterpiece.
The play was started by Fermín, who set up Dani Olmo in the area for the ball to be spurred on by Ferran Torres, who shot past the visiting goalkeeper.
The clásico had practically just kicked off and Barcelona were almost champions of LaLiga 2026.
Until then, Madrid had exhibited significant imbalances in their pressing and an alarming lack of resources to come out of the back with the ball.
Courtois prevented the rout

But all it took was a couple of counter-attacking strikes from the white team to put the blaugranas’ backline in check.
In the first, Asencio sent a long ball to Gonzalo, who controlled it after beating Cubarsí and Gerard Martín before sending it wide in his one-on-one with Joan García.
The next, which happened immediately after, was a pass from Bellingham that was cut out by Eric Garcia, preventing Vinicius from finishing at the far post.
However, it was Rashford who had the third before the break, first with a cross-shot and then with a cross-shot after receiving a ball into space from Ferran.
But in both cases he found Courtois’ hand to send the ball to a corner.
The script did not change much after the restart, although the game did get a little muddled at the start of the second half.
Even so, Barça’s soccer continued to emerge in between the brawls and stoppages to threaten the rival goal (Filed as: Barcelona campeón de LaLiga 2026).
The Camp Nou was already celebrating while Madrid crumbled

Before the hour mark, Ferran could have sealed the game – if it wasn’t already – but Courtois, this time with his leg, once again prevented it.
And shortly after, the referee disallowed a Bellingham goal for offside.
Without Mbappé and Valverde on the pitch and with Vinicius disconnected from the game on the left wing, Brahim was almost always the offensive lucidity of the visitors.
But the Spanish-Moroccan’s proposal to overcome lines was not followed up by his teammates.
Barcelona, on the other hand, increasingly comfortable in the duels and more solid in defense, with Cubarsí, Eric or Gavi appearing everywhere, saw the title getting closer and closer.
Even more so when the Camp Nou began to bounce to the chant of ¡Campeones, campeones! (Filed under: Barcelona champions of LaLiga 2026).
Barça unleashes the party and sentences LaLiga

The last quarter of an hour was a blue and white party.
With Madrid impotent, with no sign of rebellion, and Barça ready to draw even more blood against their eternal rivals.
They could have done so with a double chance for the newly-entered Raphinha and Lewandowski, but the scoreboard did not budge, nor did it need to.
Hernandez Hernandez blew the final whistle, the crowd went wild and the players embraced on the pitch as a prologue to the celebration that was to follow.
Before that, the Real Madrid players still had time to respectfully congratulate the rival, before heading, with a resigned face, to the tunnel to the dressing rooms. LaLiga ended with three matchdays to go (Filed under: Barcelona campeón de LaLiga 2026).
It was the 29th league title for the Blaugrana side
