Bad Bunny’s tour arrives in France starting this Wednesday, with a concert in Marseille tonight and two in Paris over the weekend—an occasion that has also prompted the Grévin Wax Museum in Paris to include a statue of the Puerto Rican singer in its exhibition.
With tickets sold out, the concert in Marseille will take place before an audience of about 60,000 people at the Stade-Vélodrome, the stadium where Olympique de Marseille usually plays and where large-scale events such as the giant Mass celebrated by Pope Francis in 2023 have taken place.
After its stop in the French Mediterranean city, the “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” tour will head to Paris, with concerts on July 4 and 5 at La Défense Arena, an indoor venue with a capacity of about 40,000 spectators.
A big question mark—as has been the norm at the concerts on this tour—is which celebrities will be invited into “the little house,” their VIP area—especially in Paris, where the concerts will take place just before the latest edition of Haute Couture Fashion Week, which begins on July 6 and always turns the capital into a hive of celebrity activity.
In addition to his live performances, the craze for Bad Bunny—whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio—was already evident this Wednesday in Paris with another small milestone: the unveiling of the wax figure that the Musée Grévin has dedicated to today’s biggest star in Latin music.
“Thanks to him, Spanish-language music has achieved worldwide popularity,” the Paris wax museum noted in a statement.
The statue, created from photographs, depicts the Puerto Rican artist sitting in a white plastic chair, and to set the scene, the Grévin team chose to recreate his “100% Latino and Committed” performance from the most recent Super Bowl halftime show, according to Agencia EFE.
