On the night of Friday, December 12, the GNP Seguros Stadium was the scene of a concert that will remain in the memory of thousands of attendees.

Not only because of Bad Bunny’s constant energy and unstoppable rhythm, but also because of an unexpected gesture that transcended the musical and connected directly with the cultural and religious identity of a large part of the Mexican public. During his third concert in Mexico City, the Puerto Rican artist starred in a moment that quickly became a topic of conversation inside and outside the venue.

In the middle of the show, the famous Concho the Toad -a character that is part of the show’s visual universe- appeared on the huge screens on stage to interact with the audience.

Far from being a casual intervention, the moment took on a special meaning as it coincided with one of the most important dates of the religious calendar in Mexico. Through Concho, Bad Bunny delivered a message that was received with surprise and enthusiasm by the audience.

“I want to say something very important today, being December 12: I am Puerto Rican, but with all the respect and affection in the world, happy Virgin of Guadalupe Day. Mexico, thank you for letting me share this moment with you,” expressed the message projected before thousands of people.

The words, brief but clear, were interpreted as a sign of respect for the faith of millions of Mexicans.

An immediate standing ovation from the audience for Bad Bunny’s message

The impact of the message was reinforced by the virtual background that accompanied the intervention. Images of the National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the tricolor flag appeared on the screens, provoking an immediate ovation in the GNP Seguros Stadium. The audience’s response was unanimous and emotional, consolidating the moment as one of the most significant of the night.

This gesture was understood not only as an act of courtesy, but as another example of the bond that Benito Martínez has managed to build with his Mexican audience, a relationship based on cultural recognition and closeness with his followers.

After the message, the collective emotion moved to the stands. In different sections of the stadium, hundreds of fans began to chant “La Guadalupana”, a song traditionally associated with December 12 and considered by many as an unofficial Mañanitas dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe.

The spontaneous singing reinforced the symbolic character of the moment and turned the concert into a shared experience beyond the musical spectacle.

Many attendees recorded the message and the subsequent song, and hours later the videos began to circulate on social networks. Bad Bunny’s congratulations to the Virgin of Guadalupe went viral on various platforms, expanding the reach of the gesture and confirming that what happened that night transcended the stadium.

Thus, the concert was not only a sample of the musical phenomenon that the artist represents in Latin America, but also a reflection of the cultural bond that unites the singer with his Mexican audience.
