New York’s Madison Square Garden dawned Monday morning protected with fences and an extensive security deployment throughout the area ahead of Monday night’s Game 3 of the NBA Finals, a shielding that coincides with the visit of U.S. President Donald Trump.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) informed through its social networks that additional security measures have been implemented in and around the pavilion, jointly designed by local police and the Secret Service to ensure that citizens can “enjoy the meeting safely.”
Preliminary riots and Trump visit change plans

Due to this increase in security measures for the planned party attendance of Trump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, the official outdoor viewing party on screens near MSG that was scheduled for this Monday has been canceled.
This restriction comes after last Friday, during the second game played in San Antonio, the ‘watch party’ celebration in front of Madison Square Garden ended with 17 people arrested and nine people fined for disorderly conduct.
This after scenes of fans climbing on lampposts and food stalls.

According to police union sources, two officers were injured during these altercations, one of them after being hit and bitten by a fan.
Given the current security situation, the Madison Square Garden organization has warned spectators attending the match between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs that they should arrive at least two hours in advance and without bags or backpacks (Filed as: Donald Trump triggers heavy operation in New York).
Bryant Park as a last-minute alternative

Despite restrictions around Madison Square Garden, officials announced early Monday the addition of Bryant Park as an official extra spot for tonight’s watch party.
This new location is in addition to the celebrations that were already being held as planned in other parts of the city.
Like the Wollman Rink in Central Park or the Brooklyn Bowl.
The city’s police commissioner, Jessica S. Tisch, has already warned about the enormous workload facing the force.
Not only because of the Knicks’ historic streak in the NBA, but also because of the imminent arrival of the FIFA World Cup (Filed under: Donald Trump provokes strong operation in New York).
