Inter Miami will play its first official match at its new stadium, Miami Freedom Park, on April 4 in an MLS match against Austin FC, the North American competition announced when it published the official schedule for the upcoming season.
Inter Miami will debut on February 21 away against South Korea’s Heung-min Son’s LAFC and will play the next four away games to allow sufficient time for the construction of its new home.
Inter Miami prepares for its new home

The club captained by Lionel Messi will close the season at home against Charlotte FC on November 7.
This last day is known as ‘Decision Day’.
In it, the teams of each conference play simultaneously to define the last changes in the standings before the playoffs.
Miami Freedom Park will replace Chase Stadium as the home of Inter Miami.
The latter was a temporary stadium built in 2020 to host the Herons’ games and is located in the neighboring city of Fort Lauderdale.
Construction of the new stadium began in August 2023 and the location chosen was a site near Miami International Airport, close to downtown Miami.
MLS adjusts its calendar in 2026

The upcoming MLS season will be the last before the calendar aligns with the European leagues.
Until now, MLS was played during the calendar year instead of between summer and spring, as is the case in most of Europe.
This will force it to stop between May 25 and July 16 for the 2026 World Cup, to be hosted by Canada, the United States and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
Another important date will be the ‘All-Star Game’, which will take place on July 29 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
How MLS will be formatted and closed

Each team, like Inter Miami, will play 34 games in the 2026 season, 28 against opponents from its own conference and 6 against teams from the opposite conference.
The playoffs will take place as usual in November, although the exact dates are still unknown.
MLS has yet to crown a champion this year.
The conference semifinals will be played this weekend, while the conference finals are scheduled for November 29-30 and the MLS Cup final will take place on December 6.
