Spanish singer Rosalia continues to consolidate her global impact with the release of her new album Lux, which this Monday officially entered the Top 10 of the Billboard 200, the list that ranks the best-selling albums of the week in the United States. The project debuted at number 4, making it the artist’s biggest achievement in this prestigious ranking.

According to data published by Billboard, Lux accumulated 46 thousand equivalent units, a metric that combines: physical sales, streaming plays and digital downloads.

This performance marks a milestone in Rosalía’s career in the U.S. market, which has traditionally been more complex for Spanish-speaking artists. Her previous foray into the Billboard 200 was with the hit Motomami (2022), which reached #33, well below the monumental leap that the new album represents.

Rosalia’s rise to the Top 4 is even more remarkable considering the competitive context of the week. At the top of the tally are:

1. Life of a Showgirl – Taylor Swift, which remains at number one for the sixth consecutive week.

2. I’m the Problem – Morgan Wallen, consolidated among the most listened artists in the country.

3. KPop soundtrack Demon Hunters, a global phenomenon from South Korean cinema.

Even in the midst of this scenario dominated by big US blockbusters and artists, Rosalía managed to position herself prominently, underlining her growing influence in the international industry.

Rosalía and Lux: an ambitious, multilingual and critically acclaimed album

Rosalía officially presented Lux on November 7, after three years of waiting since its previous release. The album, which includes 18 songs, has been described as her most ambitious project to date: it contains songs interpreted in 13 languages, is an experimental production and mixes genres ranging from electronic music to symphonic compositions.

The specialized critics received the album with enthusiasm. On Metacritic, the platform that compiles professional reviews, Lux received an extraordinary score of 98 out of 100, making it the best album of 2025 according to the consensus of international critics.

Beyond the numbers, Lux’ s release has generated a huge social impact. The first single, “Berghain”, unleashed a wave of analysis, interpretations and theories among fans, who searched for clues about the artist’s personal life hidden in the lyrics and visuals.

The album quickly became a global trend, accumulating millions of plays since its release and positioning itself as one of the most influential projects of the year.

Lux’ s entry into the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 confirms Rosalia’s international reach and her ability to transcend cultural and linguistic barriers. With this achievement, the Spanish artist reaffirms her place as one of the most innovative voices in contemporary music, expanding her impact in the U.S. and making it clear that her career is still on the rise.

All indications are that Lux will not only be a commercial success, but also a benchmark album for the industry in 2025.
