Colombian actor Carlos-Manuel Vesga received his first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for “Pluribus,” alongside Patrick Ball, Shawn Hatosy, Gerran Howell, Billy Crudu, Jack Lowden, and Tom Pelphrey.
The Apple TV series, set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, follows a writer, Carol Sturka (played by Rhea Seehorn, also an Emmy nominee), and a group of people who are immune to an alien virus that makes all of humanity happy.
Vesga, 50, a native of Bogotá, plays Manousos, the manager of a storage facility who lives in Paraguay and is one of the few people in the world who has not been infected with the virus.
The actor rose to fame in 2000 with the series “Pobre Pablo,” and his television projects also include “Floricienta,” “Mujeres Asesinas,” and, more recently, the telenovela “Devuélveme la vida.”
In film, he has appeared in movies such as *Soñar no cuesta nada*, *La pena máxima*, and *Donde tú quieras*, and throughout his career he has been nominated for several India Catalina Awards, which are presented in Colombia.

At the 78th Emmy Awards, he will compete for the award for Best Actor against Patrick Ball, Shawn Hatosy, and Gerran Howell (“The Pitt”), Billy Crudup (“The Morning Show”), Jack Lowden (“Slow Horses”), and Tom Pelphrey (“Task”).
“Pluribus” has received a total of 18 nominations, including Best Drama Series, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actress (Karolina Wydra).
The nominations were announced by actress Liza Colón-Zayaes, who is of Puerto Rican descent and best known for the series “The Bear,” and American actor and comedian Jeff Hiller.
The voting period to determine the nominations for this year’s edition of the most prestigious television awards ended on Monday, June 22, and takes into account series that premiered between June 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026, according to Agencia EFE.
