American singer Taylor Swift announced Wednesday that she will release four new songs on the extended album “The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore,” which will be available this Friday.
On social media, Swift shared a photo of herself wearing a gold dress and high heels in front of a theater curtain, accompanied by the album title in orange—one of the elements that defined the visual concept of *The Life of a Showgirl* (2025).
The singer also explained that she wrote the songs on a trip to Sweden, where she was celebrating with her collaborators Max Martin and Shellback because her album had had the best debut in history for an album.
“Actually, we just wanted to reflect on and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were experiencing, but there was a studio there, and we did what we always do when we feel something: we wrote more songs,” he said.
“I hope you love them, because they were born out of pure gratitude for your enthusiasm and celebration of the album we made,” the singer added.
It’s been a year since the singer released “The Life of a Showgirl”
The day before, the singer of “Blank Space” had surprised her fans with a countdown announcing the release of the single “Patient Zero” that same Friday.
“I’ve been eagerly waiting to tell you that my new single, ‘Patient Zero,’ will be released on September 25 (!!!!!!!!!!!!),” the artist shared on Instagram alongside a photo of herself wearing a black dress and leaning against a wall.
Swift starred in a “Law & Order” comedy sketch at the latest Emmy Awards, where she allegedly left hidden clues for her fans, along with a series of suspicious words to decipher: Saccharide. Aries. From the vineyard. North or south.
It was precisely because of this acrostic and the sketch’s theatrical theme that her social media followers began to put two and two together, predicting that the singer’s new project would be titled “Encore.”
On Sunday, Swift, 36, will receive her first award for Best Art Direction at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
Swift is also the artist with the second-most nominations of the night—nine in total—including Best Direction, Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Best Pop, according to Agencia EFE.
