Sergio Mayer continues to be the talk of the town for his special participation in The House of Celebrities 2026.
The also former federal deputy has been at the center of controversy not only for having requested a leave of absence from his public office to join the program of Telemundobut also for the confrontations he has had with some of the participants in the house.
However, in the midst of the controversy, the actor showed a completely different side: that of a moved father.
Sergio Mayer and his moment of vulnerability in La Casa de los Famosos
During an apparently quiet day, Mayer was on the patio sunbathing. After a few minutes in silence, he sat down and burst into tears without, at first, making it clear why. The scene surprised the audience, accustomed to seeing him firm and confrontational within the reality show.
Shortly thereafter, he explained that his sadness was due to the fact that his daughter Antonia, the fruit of his marriage to Issabela Camilis about to begin a new academic stage outside of Mexico, and he will not be able to accompany her due to his stay in the program.
“My daughter is leaving tomorrow to study outside Mexico and I cannot be with her, I cannot accompany her… It is a very strong experience for her and I cannot be with her. I know she is going to do great. It hurts to be here, but I am here precisely so that she can go to study,” she said in tears.
After venting, Mayer approached one of the reality cameras to send a direct message to Antonia. With his voice cracking, he spoke to her about how difficult it is for him not to be present at such a significant moment.
“I can’t go with you, I can’t accompany you. I know this is your first experience alone like this. You are going to be alone in London and here I will be thinking of you. Forgive me for not being able to be with you at this important moment in your life,” she said.
The actor recommended her to follow her mother’s advice and assured her that he will be watching over her at all times. He also promised that, as soon as he leaves the program, the first thing he will do will be to visit her.
“I’m proud of you, I know you’re going to do great and you’re a warrior. I swore to you that I was going to make it to the finals. I’m going to be here working for you,” he added.
Between controversy and paternity
The emotional moment contrasted with the combative image Mayer has projected in the reality show. Although he continues to be involved in controversies within the program, this scene showed his more human side.
So far, no details have been revealed about what career Antonia will study, nor in which institution she enrolled. What is clear is that, beyond show business and politics, for Sergio Mayer family remains a priority.
