Singer Miley Cyrus will reunite with the character that launched her to stardom to celebrate 20 years of the popular children’s series ‘Hannah Montana’, which became a global phenomenon, which Disney+ will broadcast on March 24.
“Going back to where it all started. The Hannah Montana 20th anniversary special premieres March 24 on @DisneyPlus,” the singer wrote on her social media.

According to a Disney release, the special will include an interview with Miley Cyrus – who played Miley Stewart, a teenager with a double life as a student and pop star Hannah Montana – hosted by Alex Cooper.
The conversation with the star will be an intimate look at the creation of one of pop culture’s most iconic characters and the impact the series and the character have had on fans around the world, who will be able to enjoy previously unseen archival footage, which aired the series from March 2006 to January 2011.
They will also be able to go back in time as some of the most memorable scenes from ‘Hannah Montana’ come to life in the special, including the Stewart family living room and Hannah Montana’s legendary closet.
“There will also be some family notations that will come back into the public eye,” the release further states.
“Hannah Montana will always be a part of me. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I will always be grateful for that connection,” Cyrus said in the statement.
She also indicated that the fact that the series continues to mean so much to people after so many years “is something I am very proud of”.
“This Hannah anniversary is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who have supported me for 20 years,” said the 33-year-old award-winning singer, songwriter, actress and producer.
While Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, noted that the children’s series opened doors for many people “to dream big, sing at the top of their lungs and embrace every facet of themselves, so its legacy continues to shine through the generations.”
“Collaborating with Miley on this special is a dream, and we want it to be a love letter to the fans, who are still as passionate today as when the series debuted nearly 20 years ago,” he said.
According to Disney, Miley Cyrus fans will be able to relive their favorite moments before the special with the ‘Hannah Montana’ collection on Disney+.
Beginning February 19, there will be non-stop streaming of all four seasons of ‘Hannah Montana,’ ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’ and ‘Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert’.
