Grounds for divorce? Lourdes Stephen’s husband calls her a ‘promiscuous diva’

The marriage of Lourdes Stephen and Michael Puchades became the focus of conversation after the Cuban-American lawyer posted a series of messages on social media in which he openly expressed his dissatisfaction with the host of *Al Rojo Vivo*.
Puchades, who has been married to the Dominican journalist for nearly two decades and is the father of her son, took to Instagram to question the way—from his perspective—that Lourdes presents herself on social media. His comments quickly sparked reactions among the host’s followers, due to the tone of the accusations.
Michael Puchades’ Strong Statements
In a post accompanied by photos of Lourdes, the lawyer spoke of his wife in particularly harsh terms. Among other things, he called her a “promiscuous social media diva” and criticized the suggestive posts she shares with her followers.
According to Puchades, this type of content is intended to generate engagement, increase his number of followers, and make some of his posts go viral.
The lawyer also stated that he had repeatedly asked Lourdes to stop posting this type of content because, from his perspective, it went against his religious beliefs and was damaging their marriage.
Their comments came as a surprise to social media users, particularly because the couple had not previously made a situation of this magnitude public.
Elsewhere in his message, Michael Puchades stated that Lourdes had portrayed herself as a victim of the situation and that, according to her account, she had resorted to what she described as the “silent treatment” for months.
She also pointed out that, despite their disagreements, she had continued to engage in the behavior he takes issue with.
“Forgive me, Lord, and please give me strength, wisdom, and patience, especially for my son,” wrote the lawyer, accompanying his statements with references to his Christian beliefs.
Puchades continued with a religious reflection in which he spoke about the need to strive for respect within marriage and mentioned that he would have tried to resolve the situation through conversation, prayer, and other efforts.
Lourdes Stephen Remains Silent
The statements drew particular attention because, until recently, the family seemed to be in a stable situation. This summer, Lourdes, Michael, and their 10-year-old son, Michael Víctor Puchades, traveled together through Europe.
The host even shared photos from that family trip and spoke publicly about how special the experience had been.
As a result, the lawyer’s posts raised questions about what is really going on between the couple right now.
After sparking widespread discussion on social media, Michael Puchades set his Instagram account to private again. Meanwhile, Lourdes Stephen has not commented publicly on the allegations made by her husband.
So far, there has been no confirmation that the couple has begun divorce proceedings. According to information attributed to journalist Mandy Fridmann, neither of them has formally filed for divorce.
For now, the status of their marriage remains unconfirmed, while Puchades’ statements continue to spark reactions among the host’s followers.
