American actor George Clooney, 64, says goodbye to his days as a leading man on the big screen. According to the pact he claims to have reached with his wife, Lebanese lawyer Amal Clooney, he no longer plans to kiss any actresses in his films.

In an interview with the Daily Mail he notes that he made the decision after a conversation with his wife, whom he married in 2014 and has twins.

“I’ve been trying to follow the same path as Paul Newman – ‘Well, I’m not going to kiss any more girls,'” adds the star of films such as ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’ (2000) and ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ (2001) or the series ‘ER’, with which he rose to international fame.

The director of films such as ‘Good Night and Good Luck’ (2005) is not the first time he has spoken about his intention to take a step back from directing romantic films.

As Variety recalls, in March he told the U.S. program 60 Minutes that he wanted to make room for the younger generation: “Look, I’m 63 years old. I’m not trying to compete with 25-year-old actors. That’s not my job. I’m not going to do romantic movies anymore,” she said at the time, reported Agencia EFE.
