Mexican actress Eiza González publicly expressed her annoyance at the dissemination of false information in some national media, after the version circulated that she had been nominated for the Golden Raspberry Awards 2026, known as the Razzies, awards that recognize the worst in cinema. According to the artist, her name does not appear in any of the official categories, so she described the news as a sign of disinformation and sensationalism.
For several days, some headlines claimed that González had been considered in the “Worst Supporting Actress” category for her participation in the film Fountain of Youth, which generated comments on social networks and confusion among the public. However, upon reviewing the official list published by the 2026 Razzies organization, it is confirmed that her name is not among the nominees.
Official list contradicts the version spread about Eiza Gonzalez

In the aforementioned category, the actresses actually nominated are Anna Clumsky for Bride Hard, Ema Horvath for The Stranger: Chapter 2, Scarlet Rose Stallone for Cunsligers, Kacey Rohl for Star Trek: Section 31 and Isis Valverde for Alarum. The absence of Eiza González in this list evidenced the mistake made by the media that replicated the information without prior verification.
In view of this situation, the actress stated that this type of practice damages the credibility of journalism and unfairly affects the image of artists. For her, it is worrying that media impact is prioritized over informative responsibility.
In a strong message, Eiza regretted that some media outlets resort to yellow journalism and unconfirmed data in order to generate eye-catching headlines. She pointed out that she finds it disappointing that negative news is spread without foundation, while other professional achievements go unnoticed.
The actress pointed out that, in the same week in which this rumor arose, two film projects in which she participated were selected in a major international festival, a fact that was not covered by the local press. In contrast, the false nomination was widely publicized, which, in her opinion, evidenced a lack of balance in the media coverage.
A distant relationship with the Mexican press Buzzy

González explained that these types of experiences have influenced his decision to maintain a certain degree of reserve when visiting Mexico and to limit his interviews with national media. Although he has reiterated on several occasions the pride he feels for his roots and for representing the country abroad, he considers that he does not always receive the same respect from some sectors of the press.
Finally, the actress called for reflection, stressing that the way in which the media express their own talents has an international impact. She invited to exercise a more responsible, ethical and respectful journalism, remembering that the information published not only builds reputations, but also the image of an entire country before the world.
