The game was back-and-forth, with the visiting team holding a slight advantage in the opening minutes.

Despite the intense pressure applied by the visiting team, Tijuana had the first scoring chance in the eighth minute on a header by Spanish player Mourad Daoudi that went just over the crossbar.

The visitors responded with a play down the middle in which Ryan Mmaee finished off a cross from Argentine Kevin Zenón to beat José Rodríguez and put his team up 0-1 in the 15th minute.

The home team tied the game at 1-1 seven minutes later after Mourad Daoudi was fouled inside the penalty area.

The referee called a penalty, which Daoudi himself converted perfectly.

Atlas remained in control, but Tijuana turned the score around to 2-1 on a set piece that Ecuadorian Adonis Preciado set up for Uruguayan Ignacio Rivero to finish in the 37th minute (Filed under: Atlas stages a comeback and stuns Tijuana).

In the second half, the visiting team pushed forward in search of the equalizer, but neither Ryan Mmaee nor Luis Leite got off to a good start.

With five minutes left in the game, the referee called a foul inside the penalty area against Hernán Crespo’s team, and Luis Leite converted the free kick to tie the game at 2-2 in the 88th minute.

In stoppage time, a left-footed shot by Florian Monzón sealed the 3-2 victory for Atlas.

Earlier, Atlante defeated Monterrey 4-2 thanks to an outstanding performance by Ecuadorian Jhojan Palacios, who scored one goal and added two assists.

The other goals for the Potros were scored by Luis Puente, Luis Calzadilla, and Eduardo Tercero.

For the Rayados, Belgian Hugo Cuypers and Roberto de la Rosa scored (Filed as: Atlas Stages Comeback and Upsets Tijuana).
