Carín León demonstrated the strength of the Mexican regional music genre in the United States when, on Sunday, he became the first singer to perform a concert at Nu Stadium, the new home stadium of the Inter Miami soccer team, where he called for support for Venezuela following the earthquakes that have left at least 1,450 people dead.
The artist captivated the audience with his “De Sonora pa’l mundo” tour, a reference to his home state in Mexico, in front of a stadium nearly at full capacity—26,700 people—with a setlist of more than 30 songs spanning nearly two and a half hours, during which he took time to ask for donations for Venezuela.
“We are the most united people in the ‘fucking’ (damn) world, so tonight, for Venezuela, we’ll be posting the donation numbers here,” he said amid cheers from the audience, which was predominantly made up of Latinos from countries such as Cuba, Colombia, and Venezuela.
The performer shared information to encourage the audience to support the initiative by the Inter Miami CF Foundation, which partnered with Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) and Doral—a city in Florida with the highest proportion of Venezuelans in the U.S.—to send supplies to communities affected by earthquakes.
“It is our duty, because first and foremost we are all children of our Lord (God), and if He sent us to Earth, it is so that we may help one another, so I want to see all of you showing your support. Venezuela, hang in there, keep your spirits up. Let that cry for Venezuela be heard!” added the singer, who dedicated his song “Lado frágil” to the cause.

Dressed in his cowboy hat, beard, and boots, Carín had the audience—which was mostly Latino, though not Mexican—screaming with his opening song, “A través del vaso,” before continuing with hits like “Me la aventé,” “Ojos cerrados,” “Como lo hice yo,” and “Según quién,” one of the songs the crowd sang along to the most that night.
The artist, who in 2026 won the Grammy for Best Mexican Music Album for the second consecutive year, kicked off a tour on May 20 in Hidalgo, a Texas city on the border with Mexico. The tour includes about 40 dates in the United States and Canada, but he emphasized how special it was to kick off the concerts at the Inter’s stadium.
“Tonight makes history—the first concert here at this brand-new stadium, the first concert here at Nu Stadium, kicking off the season with his trusted therapist, Carín León,” the artist told the audience.
The singer, an icon of Mexican regional music who incorporates genres such as rock, country, and rap, performed hits he has recorded in the studio alongside other artists, such as “Te lo agradezco” with Kany García, “Vida pasada” with Camilo, “ALCH SÍ” with Grupo Frontera, and “Si tú me vieras” with Maluma.
He also performed covers of hits by other artists with whom he has recorded, such as “Te quiero” by the Spanish band Hombres G, “Vivir sin aire” by the Mexican band Maná, “A medio vivir” by Ricky Martin, and “Otra como tú” by the Italian singer Eros Ramazzotti.
The singer reviewed his discography of five studio albums, from ‘El Malo’ (2019) to ‘MUDA’ (2026), according to Agencia EFE.
