Canadian rapper Drake broke the record held by Michael Jackson as the greatest solo male artist with the most No. 1s on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Billboard magazine reported Tuesday.

The debut of his latest single, ‘Janice STFU’, at the top of this list marks Drake’s 14th No. 1 topping the Hot 100 chart, moving him out of a tie with the King of Pop.

The rapper has also achieved a new record of 42 songs in a single week on the Hot 100 chart, surpassing Morgan Wallen, who achieved 37 in one week last month, according to data from the specialized magazine.

With 40 debuts, he also becomes the first artist to accumulate more than 400 entries on the list during his career.

Is Drake more relevant than Michael Jackson?

The Hot 100 list combines data from online (streaming) content across all genres in the U.S., radio play and sales. The latter metric reflects purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from full-service digital music retailers.

Drake is on the crest of success after the release of his three albums last May 15. The rapper had been anticipating the album ‘Iceman’ for almost two years, presenting songs in several live streams before they hit digital platforms.
