Media personality Kim Kardashian claimed a symbolic euro for damages suffered during the robbery she suffered in Paris in 2016, in the middle of fashion week, when a group of elderly thieves robbed her, at gunpoint, of jewelry worth nine million euros.
This was stated by their lawyers during the civil hearing held on Monday in the French capital, without the presence of the celebrity or the four defendants, who were sentenced to lenient prison sentences in the criminal trial a year ago because of their high age.
A verdict pronounced on May 25, 2025 after four weeks of a highly mediatized trial, which Kardashian attended to recount the ordeal she endured when she was bound and gagged by thieves who had entered at gunpoint the luxury apartment she occupied in the French capital where she had gone to follow the fashion shows.

The heaviest sentence then fell on Aoumar Aït Khedache, considered the group’s mastermind, now over 70 years old and in poor health, deaf and nearly mute, who avoided prison because of his age despite being sentenced to three years in prison.
Another of the convicted men, also of advanced age, died a few days after the verdict, and a third was exonerated because he suffered from Alzheimer’s disease.
Kardashian assured then to be satisfied with the sentence and showed her intention to turn the page of that unpleasant episode, which is in line with the symbolic penalty she is now asking for in the civil process, whose sentence is expected next September 15.
“I am deeply grateful to the French authorities for having done justice in this case. This crime has been the most terrifying experience of my life,” she said at the time.
The robbery occurred in the early morning hours of October 3, 2016, when two masked men entered the apartment at gunpoint.
In her testimony at the trial, Kardashian claimed that, when she saw a gun pointed at her head, she was sure that she was going to be raped and then murdered and that she suffered a deep trauma for which she needs the presence of several private security guards to be able to sleep peacefully. However, she accepted Khedache’s request for forgiveness.

Of the loot, only one necklace was found, which the thieves lost in their escape, while the rest was never recovered, including the wedding ring that rapper Kanye West had given to Kardashian, a piece with a 19-carat diamond and valued at about four million dollars.
The defendants were arrested in January 2017 and after spending the legal time in custody were released under judicial control.
Also in the apartment was the celebrity’s stylist, who also asked for a symbolic penalty, but not the receptionist, who was also threatened and who, according to his lawyer, suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder that has prevented him from maintaining his career, for which he claimed 550,000 euros.
The establishment where the celebrity was staying, for its part, asked for 100,000 euros, reported Agencia EFE, considering that the robbery damaged its image.
