The Oklahoma City Thunder stopped the euphoria of the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday with an impressive 139-96 victory, despite the fact that the Los Angeles Lakers were coming into the game against one of their biggest rivals in the Western Conference in their best moment, having won four consecutive games.
The team led by stars LeBron James and Luka Doncic lost all its muscle and surrendered to the Thunder, who killed the game in a spectacular first half that ended with a 23-point lead (21-44).

The gap between the two clubs stretched in the second quarter to 51-82, despite the Lakers trying to score more after the break.
The Thunder’s superiority was epitomized by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who scored 21 points in the first two periods to put the Thunder on the scoreboard.
Both Alexander (28 points, 12-of-25 shooting) and Isaiah Joe (20 points, 7-of-9 shooting) led the way in a game in which nearly every Oklahoma player got to eat a piece of the pie to satisfy the hunger for the win.

But the real catharsis for the Lakers came in the third half with a 45-goal run that forced Doncic’s retirement midway through the period.
Visibly frustrated, the Slovenian, who had 12 points, 7 assists and 30% shooting, was forced to leave the court after suffering a left hamstring injury, ending his streak of 40 or more points in each of the last three games.
The lead was so overwhelming that the scoreboard reflected an 82-51 before the final frame, bordering on the franchise’s worst defeat in history.
Doncic’s absence did not help the group.
James and Austin Reaves, the two stars were never able to get into sync or find the rhythm necessary to stand up to the local gale.
Reaves finished as the team’s leading scorer with just 15 points (5 again on shooting) points, followed by a James who was held to 13 (3-of-9 shooting).
With this result, James suffered the second heaviest defeat of his entire career.
This resounding loss to one of the NBA’ s strongest teams nipped in the bud the winning momentum of the Los Angeles team, which seemed to have found its unbeatable course in the last few weeks of the tournament.
