Italian singer Laura Pausini met with Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican on Wednesday and gave him the only copy of an unreleased song she recorded with a version of a hymn of St. Francis of Assisi.
Laura Pausini attended the event dressed completely in black, accompanied by the Warner Bross company team and with a letter addressed to “His Holiness Pope Leo”, as can be seen in the images released by the Holy See.
Pausini received in the presence of Leon XIV the ‘Global Icon’ award granted by ‘Billboard Italy’ for her “talent and commitment to inspire and unite generations around the world,” reported the specialized magazine.

Afterwards, the singer presented the pope with an unpublished song, recorded in a single copy, in which she interprets a part of the ‘Canticle of the Creatures’ by St. Francis of Assisi.
For its part, ‘Billboard Italia’ has presented the U.S. pontiff with a symbolic plaque advocating “the importance of women’s voices in the world of music being increasingly recognized and heard,” reported Agencia EFE.
