American singer<\/a> Britney Spears has had enough of accusations from her ex-husband and father of her two children, Kevin Federline, and in a lengthy message on Instagram stresses that her constant “gaslighting” is exhausting and that she has had enough.<\/p>\n

The author of ‘… Baby One More Time’ or ‘Oops! I Did It Again’ responds to the first excerpts that have been advanced on the book of memoirs of Federline, ‘ You Thought You Knew’, scheduled for October 21 and in which the DJ and dancer says he is worried about her and says that “it has become impossible to pretend that everything is going well”.<\/p>\n

“The truth is that it looks like this situation with Britney is hurtling towards something irreversible (…) From my perspective, time is ticking and we are approaching a point of no return. Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our children will be left holding the pieces,” he points out in his book.<\/p>\n

Federline recounts the time when the sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, now 20 and 19, said they didn’t want to go to their mother’s house when the couple was already separated.<\/p>\n

“Sometimes they would wake up at night and find her standing quietly in the doorway watching them sleep – ‘Oh, are you awake?’ – with a knife in her hand. Then she would turn around and leave without explanation,” the ex-husband notes.<\/p>\n

Britney Spears denies the accusations<\/h2>\n

Spears, who was married to him from 2004 to 2007, rejects in her message the image projected of her as a mother.<\/p>\n

“The constant gaslighting by my ex-husband is extremely painful and exhausting. I have always begged and clamored to have a life with my children. Relationships with adolescent boys are complex. I have been demoralized by this situation and have always asked, almost begged, for them to be a part of my life,” she says on Instagram, where she has 41.9 million followers.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, she adds, the two children “have always witnessed the lack of respect that their own father has shown” towards her.<\/p>\n

“They need to take responsibility for themselves. One of my sons has only seen me for 45 minutes in the last five years, and the other only four times in that same period. I have pride, too. From now on, I’ll let them know when I’m available,” he maintains.<\/p>\n

Spears also lashes out at the release of Federline’s memoir.<\/p>\n

“Those white lies in that book go straight to the bank and I’m the one who really gets hurt. I will always love them and, if you really know me, you won’t pay any attention to the tabloids about my mental health and my drinking.”<\/p>\n

The singer says she is “a pretty smart woman who has been trying to live a sacred and private life” for the past five years: “I talk about this because I’ve had enough and any real woman would do the same.”<\/p>\n

In 2021, Spears put an end to the mechanism by which her father took control of her finances and personal life for almost 14 years. Free of that control, the ‘Toxic’ singer has been under the spotlight and received criticism for some of her publications on social networks, where she often uploads videos dancing and posing uninhibited, reported Agencia EFE.<\/p>\n
