The famous Peruvian cumbia group Armon\u00eda 10, whose singer was murdered in March in an attack by hired killers on the band’s bus, appeared on stage with bulletproof vests at their last concert, following the recent attack suffered last week by the group Agua Marina during another concert at a similar venue, in which four of its members were wounded by gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n

The images of the performance offered on Saturday in the district of Lurigancho-Chosica, located east of the capital, Lima, transcended on social networks this weekend, where also one of its singers, Irvin Saavedra, said goodbye to the band to focus on his “welfare and that of his family”.<\/p>\n

The members of Armon\u00eda 10 took the stage with their vests under corporate jackets and offered an hour-long show at the Sol\u00eds Garc\u00eda stadium.<\/p>\n

Still with the recent attack perpetrated against Agua Marina in the memory.<\/p>\n

The attack against Agua Marina occurred last Wednesday night:<\/p>\n

Two men opened fire from the back of the stage on the musicians, who were in the middle of a concert at the C\u00edrculo Militar in the Lima district of Chorrillos.<\/p>\n

The bullets wounded four members of the gang as well as a street vendor who was in the area, according to health and prosecutor’s office sources.<\/p>\n

The attack generated public consternation and an immediate wave of criticism and pronouncements against the authorities.<\/p>\n

This was used by the political forces that supported President Dina Boluarte in power to push for her removal from office, which took place just a few hours later.<\/p>\n

The Armon\u00eda 10 group already suffered an attack on March 16 of this year:<\/p>\n

Paul ‘El Ruso’ Flores, the band’s singer, was killed during a shooting attack by hired assassins on the band’s bus as it was traveling through the Peruvian capital.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in Madrid, during a concert for the day of the Spanish national holiday, the cumbia group Bareto<\/a> also denounced the situation of insecurity that affects not only Peru’s music sector but also the population in general.<\/p>\n

“Before we start the tremendous party, we want to dedicate this ‘show’ to all the victims of violence in our country.”<\/p>\n

“Violence that comes from criminal organizations that are from the government to the streets. We are fed up, for fuck’s sake, long live Peru!” said the leader of the group Rolo Gallardo.<\/p>\n
