{"id":82312,"date":"2025-09-24T19:08:50","date_gmt":"2025-09-24T23:08:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nuevaonda.com\/californian-accused-of-leaking-immigration-employees-personal-data\/"},"modified":"2025-09-24T21:48:33","modified_gmt":"2025-09-25T01:48:33","slug":"gregory-john-curcio-accused-of-leaking-immigration-employees-personal-data","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nuevaonda.com\/en\/gregory-john-curcio-accused-of-leaking-immigration-employees-personal-data\/","title":{"rendered":"Californian accused of leaking immigration employee&#8217;s personal data"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man in California was accused of disclosing confidential information through social media about a lawyer representing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and urging her to attack his home.<\/p>\n<p>The event comes amid reports by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) of attacks against ICE agents and offices in various parts of the country, in a context marked by the heavy-handed policy against irregular immigration promoted by the Donald Trump administration.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Gregory John Curcio posted the information on Facebook<\/h2>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Federal prosecutors said Gregory John Curcio, who was taken into custody on Sept. 22, created a Facebook post that identified the lawyer as an &#8220;ICE agent&#8221; and included her home address along with a call for others to &#8220;swat&#8221; her at the address. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/1zUP0JirYz\">https:\/\/t.co\/1zUP0JirYz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; KMJ&#8217;s Afternoon Drive (@DriveKMJ) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DriveKMJ\/status\/1970971480017039656?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 24, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\nGregory John Curcio, 68, was arrested on September 22 by federal authorities after posting the lawyer&#8217;s identity on Facebook and claiming she was an &#8220;ICE agent,&#8221; the U.S <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-cdca\/pr\/santa-monica-man-arrested-federal-criminal-complaint-alleging-he-doxxed-and-harassed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">. Department of Justice<\/a> said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The defendant, a resident of Santa Monica, a city in Los Angeles County, included the attorney&#8217;s home address and personal information in the message, along with a call to the public to attack the attorney&#8217;s home.<\/p>\n<p>Gregory John Curcio, who posted the message on at least two accounts controlled by him, was formally charged the day before with violating a federal law designed for the protection of persons performing certain official duties.<\/p>\n\n<p>Federal law prohibits making public certain federal employee information, such as Social Security number, home address, landline and cell phone number, and personal e-mail address.<\/p>\n<p>The attorney stated to authorities that Gregory John Curcio previously resided in his mother&#8217;s apartment building in Santa Monica.<\/p>\n<p>The woman claimed that she never met the suspect, but that he had harassed and threatened her mother for years.<\/p>\n<p>A federal judge ordered the defendant&#8217;s incarceration without bail and scheduled his arraignment for October 14.<\/p>\n<p>Acting U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli stressed in a statement that disclosing confidential information of federal <a href=\"https:\/\/nuevaonda.com\/en\/california-prohibits-ice-agents-from-concealing-their-identity-after-controversial-raids\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">agents<\/a> and employees is a serious crime, which jeopardizes the personal safety of the agent and his or her family.<\/p>\n<p>If found guilty, Gregory John Curcio could face up to five years in federal prison.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p style=\"color: #fd9737;\">Gregory John Curcio posted information about an immigration attorney on Facebook<\/p><cite>QueOnnda.com<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><em>With information from EFE<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A man in California was accused of disclosing confidential information through social media about a lawyer representing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and urging her to attack his home.
