On June 22, 2025, the United States launched Operation Midnight Hammer, targeting three key nuclear facilities in Iran: Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.<\/p>\n

The mission involved more than 125 aircraft, including seven B-2 Spirit stealth bombers, which deployed 14 30,000-pound GBU-57A\/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) bombs designed to penetrate reinforced subway structures.<\/p>\n

In addition, more than 24 Tomahawk cruise missiles were launched from U.S. submarines.<\/p>\n

The main target was the Fordow uranium enrichment plant, located more than 80 meters underground.<\/p>\n

On June 23, 2025, in retaliation for U.S. strikes, Iran launched short- and medium-range ballistic missiles against the U.S. military base Al Udeid in Qatar, the largest U.S. base in the Middle East.<\/p>\n

The operation, named Glad Tidings of Victory, was executed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).<\/p>\n

Qatar reported that its air defense systems successfully intercepted the missiles, and no casualties were reported.<\/p>\n

However, the attack was condemned by Qatar as a violation of its sovereignty and international law.<\/p>\n

Although there was initial skepticism about the implementation of the ceasefire, on June 24, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Israel accepted Trump’s ceasefire proposal, thanking the U.S. president for his mediation.<\/p>\n

The ceasefire was brokered by the United States and Qatar, and although some minor violations were reported in the hours after it went into effect, the truce has been largely respected by both sides.<\/p>\n
