The controversy arose following an article published by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Los Angeles Times<\/a> in June 2025, which suggested that some immigrants could be detained for discriminatory reasons during immigration raids.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ai-optimize-6 ai-optimize-introduction\">In its defense, ICE called the allegations \u201crepugnant and categorically false\u201d in a post on its official Facebook page, accompanied by a screenshot of the article.
