Victor Wembanyama is getting closer and closer to becoming the highest-paid player in San Antonio Spurs history. After a season in which he cemented his status as one of the NBA\u2019s<\/a> top players, the Texas franchise has reportedly put a historic offer on the table to secure his long-term future with the team.<\/p>\n

Although the Spurs failed to win the championship after losing in the NBA Finals, the French center\u2019s impact was enough to convince the organization to build around him as the cornerstone of the project that will seek to return the team to the top of the league.<\/p>\n

A contract that would break all records<\/h2>\n

According to information cited by CBS Austin and reported by Complex, San Antonio offered Victor Wembanyama a maximum contract extension for players under a rookie contract.<\/p>\n

Valued at $251 million over five seasons.<\/p>\n

In addition to the guaranteed salary, the agreement includes various financial incentives tied to the player’s individual performance.<\/p>\n

Among them are awards such as:<\/p>\n

Most Valuable Player (MVP).
\nSelection to the NBA All-Star Team.
\nDefensive Player of the Year.<\/p>\n

If Wembanyama meets those goals during the term of the contract, the total value of the deal could exceed $300 million.<\/p>\n
