The host<\/a> of *Despierta Am\u00e9rica*<\/em> celebrated not only her husband\u2019s role as the father of their daughters, but also the gift of a new lease on life she received just a month ago after undergoing a successful kidney transplant. In a heartfelt social media post, the host shared with her followers the deep gratitude she feels for this moment, which she described as a true miracle. <\/p>\n

On her Instagram account, Karla Mart\u00ednez recalled that May 21, 2026, will forever be etched in her family\u2019s history. On that day, her husband received the kidney transplant he had been waiting for for years due to a genetic condition that had progressively affected his health. <\/p>\n

“Today is a very special Father’s Day because we’re celebrating a great dad thanks to a great miracle,” the host wrote at the beginning of a lengthy message dedicated to the man with whom she has shared much of her life.<\/p>\n

For the host, the surgery meant much more than just a medical procedure: it symbolized a new beginning after a long period of uncertainty, prayers, and hope.<\/p>\n

In her post, Karla highlighted the attitude with which her husband faced his illness over all these years. As she recounted, he never let the diagnosis define the way he lived or affect his family\u2019s well-being. <\/p>\n

The host described her partner as a man of unshakable faith who never let himself be overcome by fear, pain, or the physical limitations that gradually began to appear.<\/p>\n

“He never complained, never grumbled, and accepted God’s will with humility, love, strength, courage, and hope,” he said.<\/p>\n

He also recalled that, even in the most difficult times, he always found a way to take care of his family and reassure his daughters.<\/p>\n

Mart\u00ednez said that one of the most important lessons her husband has taught their daughters is the importance of keeping the faith even when circumstances seem adverse.<\/p>\n

In his message, he stated that he always tried to protect them emotionally, often hiding his own fears to avoid worrying them.<\/p>\n

“He taught them that they should never lose faith and that God’s plans always surpass our own,” she wrote with obvious emotion.<\/p>\n

The host explained that he has polycystic kidney disease, an inherited disorder that causes multiple cysts to form in both kidneys and that, over time, can lead to kidney failure.<\/p>\n

According to her, the disease was discovered after her husband’s mother received the same diagnosis. Doctors recommended that her four children undergo preventive testing, and that is when two of them were found to be carriers of the condition, including her husband. <\/p>\n

Karla recalled that the diagnosis came when her husband was just 33 years old and the couple had just welcomed their second daughter.<\/p>\n

From that moment on, they knew that, sooner or later, a kidney transplant would be necessary, although for a long time they thought that such a scenario was still a long way off.<\/p>\n

“We knew that at some point he would need a transplant because his kidneys would eventually fail, but we saw it as something that was a long way off,” he confessed.<\/p>\n

However, as the years went by, the disease progressed until a compatible donor was finally found, making it possible to perform the procedure that changed the entire family’s life.<\/p>\n

Today, one month after the surgery, Karla Mart\u00ednez says she is experiencing one of the happiest moments of her life. For her, this Father\u2019s Day was not only a family celebration but also an opportunity to give thanks for the miracle that allowed them to continue sharing their lives with the man she considers the pillar of her home. <\/p>\n
