Sergio “Checo” Perez once again made clear his confidence in his abilities as an F1 (Formula 1) driver. The Mexican driver assured that he continues to consider himself among the best on the grid and affirmed that a driver’s performance often depends on having the right conditions to demonstrate his talent.<\/p>\n

Perez’s statements come at an important moment in his career. After a complicated period at Red Bull, Perez began a new chapter in the Cadillac<\/a> project, a team that seeks to consolidate its position in the top category of motorsports and is working to compete more consistently against established teams.<\/p>\n

Checo responds to those who questioned his level<\/h2>\n

During a conference prior to the Monaco Grand Prix, Perez acknowledged that his last few months at Red Bull raised questions about his performance.<\/p>\n

However, Checo Perez maintained that those who know F1 in depth understand that results do not always reflect the true level of a driver.<\/p>\n

He explained that analyzing only that stage could give an incomplete picture of his ability on the track.<\/p>\n

“If you analyze my last six months at Red Bull, you wouldn’t think I was one of the best.”<\/p>\n

“But if you understand the circumstances of that moment and those who understand performance, at the end of the day,” the Mexican said.<\/p>\n

Perez added that the work he is currently doing with Cadillac has allowed him to once again demonstrate his potential and regain confidence in his own abilities.<\/p>\n

The Cadillac project represents one of the most important challenges in the Mexican driver’s career.<\/p>\n

The team continues to develop its single-seater and seeks to close the gap with the teams currently in the middle of the grid.<\/p>\n

Although the results do not yet reflect all the work done within the organization, P\u00e9rez stressed that there is internal optimism about the team’s evolution.<\/p>\n

The presence of a Mexican driver like Checo P\u00e9rez in a team with a strong American identity generates a special attraction, especially considering the enormous popularity that F1 has achieved in cities such as Miami, Austin and Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

The driver pointed out that good preparation from free practice could make a difference during qualifying.<\/p>\n

A fundamental aspect in a track where overtaking is usually extremely complicated.<\/p>\n

“Monaco always offers the opportunity to shine,” Perez explained.<\/p>\n
