The Venezuelan star left Thursday’s game against the Miami Marlins as a precautionary measure due to discomfort in his left thumb, a situation that now keeps the organization and millions of fans on alert.<\/p>\n

Atlanta defeated Miami 9-1, but the victory was put on the back burner after the early departure of the team’s current offensive leader. Ronald Acu\u00f1a Jr. left the game after the fifth inning and was later evaluated by the Braves’ medical staff. Manager Walt Weiss confirmed that the outfielder has a bone contusion in his left thumb.
