Netflix’s British series ‘Adolescence’ (Adolescence) was crowned the big winner at Sunday’s BAFTA TV awards ceremony after racking up a total of four golden masks, including the best drama miniseries category.<\/p>\n

‘Adolescence’, created by British Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham, tells the story of Jamie (Owen Cooper), a 13-year-old boy accused of the murder of a schoolmate, and throughout its four chapters – shot in sequence shot – explores how the Internet drives violence, bullying and misogyny among teenagers.<\/p>\n

Netflix’s hit crime drama<\/a>, which has racked up 142 million views and is the second most-watched title in the platform’s history (behind only the first season of ‘Wednesday’) was also the frontrunner for these TV BAFTAs.<\/p>\n

In fact, according to Agencia EFE, the night’s first award, for best supporting actor, went to young Owen Cooper, who at just 16 years of age has established himself as one of the great promises of the current scene, thanks to his celebrated acting debut in ‘Adolescence’.<\/p>\n
