Jennifer Lopez bid farewell to 2025 true to her style: with a large-scale show under the Las Vegas spotlight. The singer<\/a> and actress opened her new residency titled Up All Night<\/em> on December 30 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.<\/p>\n

In front of more than 4,000 attendees, JLo offered a show of more than two hours that combined demanding choreographies, a review of her greatest hits and multiple costume changes. However, beyond the musical and visual display, it was a direct and blunt message that ended up stealing the night.<\/p>\n

During the concert, Jennifer Lopez decided to address one of the topics that most often comes up on social networks: the criticism of the way she dresses and looks sensual at the age of 56.<\/p>\n

From the stage, and with a mixture of humor and firmness, the artist made it clear that she no longer allows such comments to affect her personal or professional life.<\/p>\n

“Thank God I’ve been doing this for a long time. I can ignore a lot of it. It doesn’t really mean anything,” she expressed in front of the audience, in a moment that quickly went viral on platforms like TikTok and X. JLo stressed that sexiness is not at odds with age, motherhood or self-respect, an idea she has championed throughout her career.<\/p>\n

Jennifer Lopez: Humor, irony and a strong message<\/h2>\n

The interpreter explained that she sometimes encounters absurd comments about her image and that she even laughs at some of them. “Sometimes they say funny things,” she commented before mimicking those who question why she usually poses with her mouth open in photographs. She then reproduced some of the most common criticisms: “Why does she always dress like that? Why doesn’t she dress according to her age? Why is she always naked?”.<\/p>\n

The response was immediate and sparked a widespread ovation. “And I say, ‘If you had this ass, you’d be naked too,'” she launched as she strode across the stage in a green mini-dress of sequins and almost invisible fringe, which she later covered with a feathered skirt. The message was clear: no woman should limit the way she expresses herself because of her age.<\/p>\n

This is not the first time Jennifer Lopez has faced this type of accusations. In 2020, after her Super Bowl halftime performance alongside Shakira, she defended her show, assuring that it was a celebration of Latin culture and female power. “We are respectable women, moms with children and we are very conscious of what we do,” she declared then, reaffirming that sensuality is not at odds with dignity.<\/p>\n

During the opening night of Up All Night<\/em>, JLo also indulged in a few jokes about her personal life, including her recent media-worthy divorce from Ben Affleck. Recalling her first Las Vegas residency nearly a decade ago, she laughingly remarked, “At that time I had only been married twice…well, no, just once. It felt like two.”<\/p>\n

Far from being affected, she closed the commentary with optimism: “Everything is fine. The good news is that I am learning, I am growing. I’m in my happy era. With this, Jennifer Lopez made it clear that, both on and off stage, she continues to move forward with confidence, experience and full awareness of who she is.<\/p>\n
