If this part is called into question, it inevitably raises questions about the exact sequence of events.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2195\" data-end=\"2269\"><strong data-start=\"2198\" data-end=\"2269\">The context of the murder of Valent\u00edn Elizalde<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2270\" data-end=\"2738\">The crime occurred in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, in the early morning of November 25, 2006, after Valent\u00edn Elizalde had performed at the palenque of the Reynosa Expo-Feria.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2270\" data-end=\"2738\">Minutes after leaving the place, the van in which he was traveling was attacked by an armed group. That episode marked a before and after for Mexican regional music and, since then, has been surrounded by versions, theories and speculations.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2808\" data-end=\"3363\">Interest grew in recent weeks because Tano Elizalde gave statements on the podcast La Funa, in which he addressed the moments prior to the attack and denied a much-repeated version: that the attack was triggered because Valent\u00edn sang the corrido &#8220;A mis enemigos&#8221; (To my enemies).<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_122747\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-122747\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-122747 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/nuevaonda.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Captura-de-pantalla-2025-12-10-a-las-13.03.28.jpg\" alt=\"Valent\u00edn Elizalde, celebrities\" width=\"1200\" height=\"1146\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-122747\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">PHOTO: &#8216;X&#8217;.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p data-start=\"2808\" data-end=\"3363\">In that space, Tano affirmed that &#8220;he was never forbidden to sing that corrido&#8221; and maintained that it was not directed to a particular person.
