The Denver Broncos came back from a 0-16 deficit on Sunday to defeat the Los Angeles Rams 30-26 at Empower Field in Denver with a game-winning touchdown by quarterback Bo Nix in the final minute.
Nix finished the game with 186 passing yards, two touchdown passes, and a last-minute rushing touchdown that gave Denver its second win in three games this season. For the Rams, Matthew Stafford racked up 390 yards and threw two touchdown passes before being intercepted twice in the fourth quarter by Talanoa Hufanga.
Bo Nix leads a wild comeback, and the Broncos knock out the Rams
The Rams took a 16-0 lead in the first half, thanks to a five-yard touchdown pass from Stafford to Tyler Higbee and three field goals by Harrison Mevis.
But in the second half, the Broncos rallied with 30 points that turned the game around.
Bo Nix led the way with two touchdown passes—the first, a five-yard pass to Pat Bryant, and the second, an eight-yard pass to Nate Adkins.
In addition, he was perfect on the two-point conversions that tied the game.
The fourth quarter was spectacular.
The Rams took a 19-16 lead with another field goal by Mevis, and the Broncos responded with a “pick-6” by Talanoa Hufanga off a pass from Stafford.
The Rams’ veteran quarterback got his revenge right away with a spectacular 48-yard pass from Stafford to Konata Mumpfield for a touchdown.
But the Broncos had the last word, with a game-winning touchdown by Bo Nix in the final minute that gave the home team a thrilling victory.
